VERDE VALLEY DINE’N’RIDE

Central Arizona Bikers Group Ride to Verde Valley

What a great day for our second ride of the year not to mention the great turnout for the ride itself!  We met at the coffee house across from the Dinner Bell in Prescott.  Those members present were BikerDan, Stinker, Skullhead, SmokinPoke, Mae, Cat, Ray, Rinko, Pepper and ReggaeRider. We were on our way to the Verde Valley by 10:30.  We took a break at the 169 and I-17 interchange where we met Rinko who joined the group.  Then it was off to the V-Twin cafe for some grub.  The owner, Jesus Perez was very happy to have us stop by.  He even bought an ad on the Cottonwood page of my website.  After what I thought was pretty good chow at reasonable prices we headed out to Cornville on a ride thru Page Springs.  This was my first time to take this road and I will probably be on it again soon to check out some of the wineries we passed.  From here we headed back thru Cottonwood making our way around the old town and up thru Clarkdale.  By the way, Clarkdale was the first planned community in the west built by Senator Clark from Montana.  Senator Clark owned the United Verde Copper Mine and designed and built the town of Clarkdale so the miners would have a place to live.

Before running up the hill to Jerome we stopped at the bottom of the hill to pick up Skullhead’s friend Pepper on her Honda.  In Jerome we took a break and had a cold drink at Spirit Room. “One Class Act” was on the stage at the Spirit Room and we enjoyed some great music!  SmokinPoke took a great video which you can view if you have QuickTime downloaded on your puter!  I would certainly ride up to Jerome just to listen to this group again!  Well we took a group photo at the scenic view stop and headed on over Mingus back to Prescott.  Hey guys!  Thanks for making this ride a success.  Hope to see you all soon and don’t forget our next group ride ‘Bagdad and Beyond’ scheduled for March 8th.  Ride Safe!
