Prescott - Skull Valley - Kirkland - Wilhoit - Prescott
This ride is approximately 50 miles long. It is a loop ride that includes long sweeping curves ,straight a ways, and lots of twisties. Since it is a ‘loop’ ride, one can choose which way they want to take the twisties. The twisties are located between Wilhoit and Prescott.
It includes mountain and high desert roads at different elevations. Ride in the high desert and through Ponderosa pines and the mountains. I live in Prescott so this is what I call my ‘quick release’ ride as it removes the stress that is built up as I work on my website day to day.Â
For such a short ride the ‘High Desert Mountain Run’ includes a lot of different topography. It is a popular short ride for the locals.
There are a few places that one can stop for a short break that are located at convenient spots. There is a General Store in Skull Valley and a small market in Wilhoit. Both stops are comfortable places to stop. There are also some nice view stops going up the twisties from Wilhoit to Prescott.
The ride starts on Montezuma St., home of ‘Whiskey Row’ and the Yavapai County courthouse.
